The delegation visited the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the Huawei Beijing center, and the Zizhu High Tech Zone.
They met officials from a number of government bodies including the ministries of Commerce and Foreign Affairs
Worrell and his team were briefed on China’s economic development plan for 2016-20, which aims to distribute the benefits of growth widely among the population and to substantially reduce poverty levels.
The delegation also met with the People’s Republic Bank of China to discuss Barbados’ concerns over the de-risking strategies of international banks, which is resulting in a fall in correspondent banking relationships.
